If you're having trouble accessing the OPM Collect login page, your IP address may not be on the approved whitelist.
Why this happens
To protect security and data integrity, OPM Collect restricts access to pre-approved IP address ranges used by federal agencies. If you attempt to log in from outside one of these ranges, you will see an access error page.
What the error page shows
The error page will display your current IP address — the unique network identifier assigned to your computer or network connection — along with a Reference ID. If you need to contact the help desk, have both values ready.
How to resolve this
-
Connect via your agency VPN. Most access issues are resolved by connecting through your agency's VPN before attempting to log in.
Ensure you are connected to your VPN by verifying that your current IP address on the Internet is from your VPN network. You can check your IP on the internet by going to https://whatismyip.com and using the Show IP details dropdown. - Still seeing the error on VPN? Contact your agency IT department to confirm your connection is routing through the correct IP range.
- IT has confirmed your IP range is correct? Submit a help desk ticket to request an IP range adjustment. Note that this requires written authorization from your agency. The help desk will provide a form to collect that approval.
